The Kept Flowers Collection stemmed from my discovery of a long-forgotten flower press from my childhood. The press had not been opened in almost twenty years, and to my delight, what lay inside were perfectly preserved, nearly-translucent wildflowers.
Whether pressed, dried, or encapsulated, the flowers we keep become mementos, and markers of time. This line of sterling silver jewellery seeks to further preserve memory of the act of collecting and keeping flowers for generations to come. The designs are abstracted from silhouettes of dried flowers, combining a minimalist aesthetic with subtle floral references. Each piece is carefully made by hand in my studio in Halifax, NS.
